#22 - social networking

I took the facebook tour, and listened to the Newsweek audio broadcast and read the Newsweek article about social networking. I explored Myspace and the categories... looked at a few and really fooled around with the classified section. I also searched both Facebook and MySpace for a former student. (She spends lots of time in these spaces.... her last post was yesterday). In general, the concept of a social network on line is somewhat appealing to me, but I can see how it can be very appealing to High School and College students. Features I like are all the options (categories)like shopping, and films, etc. Applications for libraries could be another access point for researchers, students and faculty to reach librarians.
